CHALLENGE

Before StarWind Virtual SAN (VSAN) deployment, the Ontario School District already had a shared storage solution – HP StoreVirtual VSA and a VMware ESXi hypervisor. Although the existing SAN met the requirements for high availability and disaster recovery, it was nearing end-of-life, limiting scalability. With a constantly growing volume of data, it could be upgraded to a larger capacity with only significant investments.

The organization required a cost-effective solution to ensure uninterrupted service during site outages.

StarWind VSAN works great and meets all our needs.

SOLUTION

The Ontario School District has chosen StarWind VSAN because it offers seamless scalability without exorbitant expenses, effectively mitigating the constraints of its former setup. Most crucially, StarWinds replication across multiple sites guaranteed uninterrupted service during outages, a vital feature for educational continuity.

With StarWind VSAN in place, the Ontario School District now boasts a robust IT infrastructure that fulfills all its requirements. The district plans to leverage StarWind further, incorporating it into its backup strategy and adopting StarWind Virtual Tape Library (VTL) for cloud storage replication.
